In his new book, Bill explains that God's call is always forward, never behind us and that each new day unlocks the potential of tomorrow. There is no going back. The purposes of God are always ahead of us and the only way we get to them is to Keep Going!
We cannot linger in the graveyards of our painful past, nor languish in the memories of greater glories. Tomorrow summons us and we must respond.
Without tests and trials, we would have no laboratory to understand and evaluate the blessedness of God's faithfulness and promises. The larger story of your life and mine have been those challenges, those moments when all that you are and believe are pressed and tested to the limits. Either we believe God no matter what or we walk with God conditionally!
We often wonder about how God grows our faith. Kathy and I can now attest to the fact that the largest lessons learned about faith often have come in the depths of the darkest moments. As God permits the twists and turns of life, He does so with a view toward tomorrow--recognizing before we can, that these moments will forge a new capacity for faith and courage in us, necessary for future He plans.
The life God has designed for us requires us to surrender to His plans and purpose for us. A Life Worth Living asks the question—for what kingdom good on this earth has God redeemed our souls by His grace and mercy? Your life is connected to others and the longer we live the more we come to understand how important this relationship can be. Neither of us got to this point on our own. Our life has value to our own development but also to those who are connected to us.
A leadership fable on the life of David and our hunt for greatness in the ordinary days of life. Like David you can choose to be defined by your greatest day (Goliath) or your worst day (Bathsheba) or you can join the cause of living with intentionality so that our lives are defined by the sum total of all our days.
In the summer of 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region of the USA. Kathy and I were living there and found ourselves in the midst of one of the largest natural disasters our world has ever known. Yet, the storm became a blessing in so many ways, Kathy and I decided the story needed to be told. It was our commitment to highlight and profile the many courageous persons and leaders who made a difference in the hours which followed the storm. These heretofore “unsung” heroes became lifelines to the residents who came daily for food and encouragement to our NOMACC center in New Orleans. The stories and our experiences formed a series of life-related lessons we know see God was teaching us. Never forget that in the storms of your life…God is near!
God’s design for your life has never been for you to “play it safe”, rather He invites you to come into the deeper water where you will be over your head. The life you were meant to live is one of full abandon—all-in to a passionate pursuit of God’s best. Don’t be afraid to “go for it!”
The truth of our lives is that we did not find the Lord…He found us and that INTERSECTION was the defining moment in our life. The Intersection will introduce you to people from the New Testament who met Jesus at an unexpected crossroads in their life and that meeting was transformational. If you need encouragement or find yourself in a difficult moment needing connection…don’t despair…be assured He is very near!
If there is one thing the life of Joseph teaches us is that the past never defines the present unless we allow it. Your life is not defined by past mistakes or successes, rather your life is defined by God’s plan and His guidance of your life!
