Tuesday’s update on Kathy Isaacs
NO CHEMO FOR EIGHT WEEKS!
The good news today is we feel we have turned a small corner. Time will tell if this is a marking point for the beginning of the next phase of the journey. However, we are excited and thrilled to hear our doctor say scans are cleans, no masses, no tumors, no growths, no suspicious activity. Blood labs are good. Only a slight increase and all other labs are normal.
There is a tremendous sense of relief that comes with this report. Not that we presume the journey is over, or that there will not be difficult days ahead. In truth, we know we have said to you many times, this is a journey of many days-some good, some bad, and some others. Today, February 23, 2010 is a good day!!! Dr. Thompson continues to believe in the progress we are making, that it is credible and substantial. The next part of the journey will be to understand what happens in Kathy’s body without chemo every 21 days. We return to CTCA mid-April to find the answers to these questions. We continue to trust in the Lord for our future and this destiny God has ordained. We are eager and a bit impatient to explore new chapters that lie ahead. We have never been in this place before. Today was the first time Kathy has left CTCA without chemo. It was a strange but wonderful feeling. We hope to get use to it every time we come here.
Our newest book, When Leaves Turn Under, should be ready before we return to CTCA mid-April. We are excited to share Kathy’s story and in some way help others who are traveling this path of life.
We love all of you so very much and appreciate your willingness to take this long walk with us. For now, we all exhale, do a jig, shout a shout, and sing a song.
God is good!
